In the Quiet of Laughter’s Embrace

This evening, I am at my local brewery hidden in the middle of Texas. The people are coupled and are spending time by playing games, looking through old pictures, on a date, on an outing with besties, all while country songs are taking my mind to a place of mental banjo rhythm. I am thinking of you.

Of you, baby.

Outside in the patio, there is a trio of elderly women with white hair radiating silver against the evening sunset. They are throwing their heads back in deep laughter.

I have taken inspiration from them this evening. Just as their laughter persists at their age in life, I want my affection for you to be as such.

Laughter is experienced as early as 3 months into the world and will be experienced as long as that person will live and choose laughter.

Baby,

I vow to dote on you as long as we live.

Baby,

Ask me to verbalize my thoughts for they carry deep intricate thoughts.

If you catch me kissing your cheek slowly, ask me to express my thoughts and feelings. For even I don’t fully understand the depths of my affection.

Baby, I pray that you can meet me at these depths of feeling and thought.

Until then…
